Here are the cloth diapers that I have decided to work on lately. I have been trying to get back to my sewing and I thought what a good way to do it! Make something useful and cute!

I really love these. They turned out really cute. All of these particular ones have been made from some of our Old Navy tees that we can no longer wear because of size or being stained. So its a super recycle progect!!

Helps the Earth out. Saves me money. Recycles clothing that can no longer serve its original purpose. = AWESOME!!

Well I have finally made it past the half way mark and thought that it would never happen!! Finally at the 31 weeks mark and on my way to the 32 weeks mark with its 4D ultrasound. YAY! I really can't wait to see this little guys face! I have been needing this for quite a while. This has been the hardest pregnancy! I'm sure not only for me but for my little guy, Brahm, whos been waiting it out inside a mess of a Momma carrier. Over 7 months ago, I was switched to a medication that was supposed to be better for the baby and it turned out that it was terrible for MOMMA!

As hard as it is to sit and admit to my followers, I'm going to go ahead and toss it out there. I have in the last month, been diagnosed with Major Depressive Disorder with Anxiety and Severe Panic Attacks. The meds that I was given around November of 2010 (to make things safer) turned out to be toxic to my system. I wasn't aware that they don't treat anxiety and panic attacks and can more often than not...cause them and magnify them as well. I have been on a medication for about 7 years or so that has helped keep all of this at bay because as a teenager, I would have attacks that were so severe that I would look like I was having seizures and need immediate medical attention.

One night last month, my body let me know just how dangerously close to the edge that it was. I went into an extreme panic and had attacks coming within minutes and even seconds from the last. I was up that night for hours in a fetal position, rocking myself, crying for my husband to not go to sleep and just hold me tight because something was very wrong with me. I begged him to take me to a hospital because of how distraught I was. I couldn't clear my head of racing thoughts and was shaking violently. I tried splashing water in my face and smacking my cheeks to try and wake myself up from this horrible nightmare. It was the scariest moment of my life by far. My husband stayed up with me all of that night and told me just to hang in there until morning so that he could get me to our actual doctor rather than some random ER doctor that I wasn't familiar with.

8 O'clock couldn't come fast enough!!

I was exhausted! I went in to speak with my doctor's office Talk Therapist (whom I had never seen before). I just needed to talk to someone who I thought could help me figure out why my mind was sooo jumbled. She suggested that I go into an outpatient program. I jumped at the chance for anything or anyone to help, no matter what it meant. I just wanted to be able to get back to "the old me". I wanted to be able to go home and play with my daughter and be a wife again, rather than the zombie that I had been slowly turning into within the last few months. I felt so guilty that my family had lost me for over half of a year and I was ready to be back...not only for them but for this new lil bundle of joy. Whatever it took, I was willing to do it for me and for THEM.

So now, with different meds that I keep closely monitored and more talking through the things that cause my anxiety and stress instead of stuffing them down and ignoring them...things are slowly getting better. It's been an extremely hard road to travel but with each bad day, I know its another step towards recovery. My slogans have become..."It's gotta hurt before it can heal.", "As uncomfortable as it is to face it...it will be that much more uncomfortable to stuff it down and let it overload me." and "From now on... I CHOSE ME!" It's amazing how much saying those things can help bring you back to reality. I'm not saying that I'm healed by any means because it's a really hard struggle and I DO have my "off" or "down" days but it's a process and it took months and in some cases, years to do this damage. So I can't expect to be 100% overnight.

So wish me luck and keep me and mine in your thoughts and prayers.

Hey Everyone,

I will be working really hard to update my website with items to buy. I have had a lot of time off in the last few months due to horrendous sickness. I found out in December that I was just about 1 week pregnant. Since then I have caught every sickness known to man, including both strains of the flu!! UGGGgggg!!! After a few trips to the emergency room I had decided that I should just stay home, kick my feet up, sew and relax because of all of the health issues I've had while trying to keep this new baby from stress. What a great time to start workin on things for the next few months.

I have started workin on some fall items just to get a good jump on the later season because I'll be busy doing Mommy business x2. I have candy corns, more "hoot" owls, witches boots, crow brooms, crows and more. I've got a lot of them all sewn, stuffed and ready for painting & detail work.

Craziness Gallore!!

Hey guys,

As you all know... the end of the year is super dooper crazy for me. Even more so this year because I also sub at our school. I have been there almost everyday for the last few months and it has been hard to keep up with the store, the sites and school combined. So I appologize for not being with it...AGAIN! :) I am hoping things are going to start easing up soon. I have finally got a day off to clean and my house is really needing it with all of the work going on here. It looks like a CRAFTING FIRECRACKER has exploded in here!! I have recently started making hairbows and tutus because of the huge request for them and that has lead to making Cheer hairbows for 2 different schools Cheer teams as well as a request for ordering tee's for one of them. So busy busy BUSY! I hope to get some photos on here soon of works that I will more than likely have to bring out NEXT year for winter because I just haven't had time to finish them.

These turned out really colonial looking and I absolutely love them!

The Power of FLOWER staining.

In all my little Fall adventures in creating that I have been posting about...I have also been looking at a large bundle of sunflowers that we had at The Dusty Attic. They were just sooo bold! I kept wondering how they might look if I stained them to make them a bit more Prim. Sooooo, I took them home and stained them to find out.

They are looking amazing! Just a few more dips to go and they will be absolutely Prim-tastic!

Short Witches Boots...Almost finished!

Well my short witches boots are almost finished. I posted a picture of them a few posts back with them a little less closer to being this finished.

Don't you just love the buttons that I found in my button collection. I have an old train-case full of them. These went absolutely perfect with these boots.

The wrinkles turned out really well too!

Cutie Crows

Looking through my photos, I found my little Christmas Crow that I made last year around Christmas. I think she is adorable. I'm sure the Lady that purchased her thought so as well. hehe.

I think I have a few almost ready to go for this fall and winter. YAY! I'm going to try to finish them up for this year.

OH, and I found this too!! HAHAH!! Who says you can't have fun with boxes. This was Erica's Mermaid tail. LOL. She grabbed up one of the Christmas tree boxes from The Dusty Attic, slipped inside and said... "Look Momma!!! I'm a mermaid. Look at me swimming in my mermaid tail!"
Totally made my day!!

Bed to Bench-tastic!

I found this cute little twin sized bed at a junk shop that they sold to me for about 5 bucks. My first intention was to use it in my lil girls bedroom BUT, after it sat around for a few months I got an idea. I got a coffee table from our store, The Dusty Attic and had been moving furnature around and had accidently shoved it against the headboard. TA-DA!!! Found their new purposes! I was looking at it thinking "Oh my gosh! That would be so cute as a new bench in front of my fireplace. And there it was. So I sanded the headboard of its nasty glossy ....yuck-ness, repainted it black and placed it behind the coffee table. For now it is just placed until I decide if I want to place screws in either piece but you would never know it wasn't a fully functional bench. It is really cute and fits perfectly in front of the fireplace.
I wish I had a better pic of it. I promise I will later but for now all I could find was one of it with Izzy taking the bench over for herself. I think it's cute even if the bench isn't as noticable. If the kitty loves it... it must be cute!

Table Facelift

I can't tell you how much I love our dinning room table. At first it was a wonderfully ugly, chippy painted, stained up thing. Very Prim and pretty for those of us that love that look. But then as we used it more and more and my taste has changed a little.... I decided to strip the top to the original wood with hopes to stain it a dark cherry-ish stain, poly it and paint the base black, scuff the edges and stain them. I think it will be wonderful.
(Right after we stripped the top and about to stip the sides. I had to throw a bowl of fillers on it to picture how pretty it would be. )

(See the white.... it was cute just needed something new and improved.)

(Erica asked to help. She thought the sander was "....waaaaaaay cooler than that paper stuff." lol.

(Here we are in our working clothes. Totally cute huh...lol... well at least "my gal" was.

I'll be posting the finished product when it's finally done.

Broom Corn

Don't you just love the look of broom corn!?

I was looking through some of the "IMADETHAT" files that I have on my computer and found this broom corn wreath that I made for a man that grows it. I wanted to buy all that he had at the Heritage Fest that I had went to and didn't have enough to cover the whole batch. So he said, "Tell ya what, make me somethin' little out of some of it and I'll give it ALL to ya." I told him it was a deal!!

So this is what I made for him. I struck up a friendship with the farmer and
now I just give him a call when I need more and pay him as I go. Thank goodness cause I would have never known where to buy it around here if he hadn't been so nice.

Uhhhh, broom corn is sooo pretty and prim! I love it!!

The Tess-nater!

Here is my Tess-Tess (Tessy). The little gal I adopted this January from the Humaine Society. It's kind of funny how I got her. I kept seeing her picture pop up on Pet Finder and I kept thinking... "Poor kitty, she's got such an ugly little face." Which is totally not me. I think most all kitties are just adorable. I went to the shelter where she was placed to look at a different cat and noticed that Tessy was there. "Little Miss Ugly Face" was in the shelter that I was at and wasn't as ugly as I had originally thought, just "unique". I wasn't at all interested in her but for some reason she kept pawing at me through the cage and "talking". I finally said "Aww momma kitty you aren't the cutest thing here but you sure are a sweet lil' chubby gal!" So I opened the cage and she practically malled me trying to get me to pet her. I couldn't hardly stand how she acted like she was trying to charm me into taking her because of how much she hated her little cage (at least that's my thinking on the whole ordeal weither that was what she was doing or not). So I asked the lady at the shelter if she knew anything about her and she said she was approx. 4 and a half years old and that they had had her for a long time (people tend to take the kittens and things before the "old" cats and I'm sure the ugly picture that she took didn't help).

I looked at Tessy long and hard and thought you know what... I have always been a sucker for the runt of the litter, the ugly ones and the ones who will probably get picked last and thought.... this is my golden gal. And boy was I ever right!!! This cat is my best buddy. I absolutely love her to pieces. She has quickly become another "child" of our family. I wasn't sure I would ever get over losing my little Dori-Bug kitty because I tried and tried to find a ringer for her but Tess has slowly helped me learn to love her for her. And her personality makes her absolutley GORGEOUS!

Tessy is such a mess. The little poot loves thread, yarn, dibs and dabs of fabric of all kinds. What a spoiled lil stink.

She slowly lets us know about her lifestyle from before. For the longest time she was not a "holding cat", a "petting cat"(except to lure me to her to adopt her...lol), a "more than one kitty cat" and so on. It has taken about 6 months for her to warm completely up to us. She is now a "must have me on your lap cat", "pet me all the time cat", "PLEASE PICK ME UP and hold me like a baby cat", "I'm gonna follow you everywhere you go cat", a "chitter chatter cat", but still a "don't bring another cat home after Izzy cat went to live with Nana -cat"....lol. (Izzy needed someone to play with and Tess was not letting up. She did NOT want to be friends and one of Nana's kitties went missing so her Charlie cat was lonely and Izzy and he have always loved each other dearly.....Perfect Match.)

Now, I have never given a cat canned food because it makes for uhmmm, .....disgusting potties...usually. But Tess gets "treat food" every other 2-3 days. It all started when my hubby started eatting tuna because it was better for him than all the other heart UN-healthy meats, etc. Tess would hear the can opener and that .... kind of ..."pop" the top of the can makes and would RUNNN into the kitchen. She would "talk" non-stop, circle him, paw his legs, stand on her hind legs and basically beg when she heard that sound. So I felt that after 2 weeks of this happening that there was a posibility that Tessy was fed canned food where she lived before. Once I brought a few cans home... I think I found her weakness. Chicken with gravy!!

If we eat any tuna and it's not treat food day.... Tess will let us know that she is angry with us for not letting her have some too. She "puffs"....lol. She blows out her mouth and nose and gives you a dirty look and walks off with her tail high and kitty booty shakin'!! (kind of like a kid that goes, UH! That little fast bit of air they puff out with that look on their face like.. "Oh my gosh, you never let me do aANYTHING fun!")

YOU KNOW that look.

New Items from BedRest!

Well, here are the things that I have been working on lately....from my bed. That's right, my bed. I fell working in the yard (on some rather hard stones!!) right on my BEE-hind. Oh yea and by the way, when I did this, I uncovered some BEES! A ground nest of bumble bees. So yay me! Anyways, I fell pulling a tarp from beside our home that we had laid to keep water from our basement. I had made great progress then slid down our sloped hill in my stupid shape up shoes and fell right on my butt on a flat smoothe stone. Then laid there for 2-3 minutes trying to move but not too much because of the bees ... still crying and trying to get my hubbys attention on our mower. Uggg... eversince then, I've been laying in bed on my stomache and sides... trying to keep busy with something!! It's not easy when you have to lay in bed. So I have been working on my crafts and trying to make myself sit for about 30 mins at a time (doesn't feel good but still have to try). So my blog is THIS 30 mins. Wish me luck.

Hey Everyone, I just wanted to let you all know that I haven't fallen off the face of the Earth. I have just been super busy. I have recently become a teachers aide and the schools have really kept me busy. I have rescued a few more kitties, had to buy a new vehicle, been trying to rework website issues as well as store issues(as in.... find time to work on/in them!), been suffering from a horrible sinus/ear infection and much more. It's barely give me time to do anything for myself.

Soon I will be helping my momma in law get her selling blog going for The Dusty Attic. You may visit it at http://mydustyattic.blogspot.com . We will be transitioning from our webstore ... to this blog to save the cost of having such a large yearly cost for the amount that we sell. It was really starting to eat into the profits. Prim Pumpkins and Fall/Halloween Canes

Here are my Prim Fall/Halloween Candy Canes. They are (of course) an orange instead of the original red that candy canes are. They look great with every single fall display that I have placed them in at the store. I just love them. I have wrapped them in 3's with a bit of coffee baked cheese cloth. I also placed a sprig of sweet annie and a rusted jingle bell on them. Too sweet!

These are my prim pumpkins for this year. They are a bit different than the last few years... but not at all lacking in prim-ly-ness! These pumpkins look absolutely wonderful on our mantle as well as in the center of the dinning room table. And they smell of cinnamon!!

This is a set of Americana Bowl Fillers. They are assorted balls adorned with multiple fabrics, buttons, scrabble tiles, etc. Aren't they sweet. I have a set of these stacked on my mantle for the 4th next to a set of toddler sized wooden shoe molds. Too CUTE!

I love these towels and the Towel Holder is just tooo PRIM for words!! I love it!

This is a wreath that I put together for the store after seeing that awesome one in Country Sampler. Connie just had to have one for the store so I tried to make do with what we had. She was sooo happy that I put one together for her. Won't that be beautiful on her wrap around porch at home once she's done with it in the store.

The little picture frame with the flag in it is just perfect for anyone who has ever had someone fight for their country in their family. Connie is going to put a photo of her father in hers. Won't that be perfect with his old war photo in it.

Here are a stack of Americana Buntings and tea towels in Navy and White plaid as well as Red and White ticking. The crock has been adorned with navy and white gingham fabric. Isn't that cute!

I love these! They are stacking Star Boxes. You can either stack them on top of one another or display them standing like these are. Absolutely Wonderful!!

It's begining to look like Fall again at the Dusty Attic

Hey, It's beginging to look a lot like Fall here at The Dusty Attic. That is the store that my momma-n-law and I run. Isn't this wreath really cute. I just tossed it together real quick. It's one of Connie's witches hats that she was working on for Halloween, a new orange pip garland that we just got in, a few sprigs of sweet annie and a little wooden pumpkin ornie. How cute!

We got this awesome glidder from a tag sale last week and decided to put it on the porch and cute it up with some of our crow pillows and the matching quilt. (Don't mind the sled... I just haven't had time to move it.)

I just have to say YAY! Fall is coming! I really can't wait. Once August hits, it seems like so many fun things start to happen the closer we get to Fall. My birthday is coming up soon and 2 of my favorite hometown festivals are happening as well. I just love those cooler nights when you have to throw on a hoodie and jeans... got to the festival, eat tons of fair food and talk about the "good ol' days" with your best buddies from high school as well as those nights you put a bon'fire together or hayrides. I just love it! Not to mention the fact that my favorite holidays will be just around the corner...Halloween and Thanksgiving (Don't ya just love burnt orange!) ... as well as the weeks before Christmas.

Hi there gang! I just wanted to let you all know that I have shoved my mother into the world of blogging. LOL!! So everyone please be so kind as to give her a visit and be a follower! Foam Shell bracelet and necklace by Alpha+Mom

I was visiting my favorite places today online and found this really cute idea on Alpha+Mom. It's a bracelet and necklace set made out of foam plates!! How pretty is THIS! I thought this was great. They made the bracelet and necklace both and I think even earrings might be cute...not worn all together of course. That would be a bit much going on around your head if you wore the earrings and necklace together but isn't this a neat idea. They also did a variation for a toddler not so pleased with the look of the spikey set. Her's were yellow, round and looked like Ruffles ridges chips...TOO CUTE! A Primitive Journey's Orange and Clove Pomanders

As you all know, I love to blog hop and find really neat ideas and things from other people that I think are worth a good meantion. I also use them as a reference for myself as well as for all of us. I hopped on over to A Primitive Journey's Blog for a bit this evening and found this cute recipe/idea. Orange and Clove Pomanders. I have always wanted to try these! So here is her recipe almost word for word... Go check out her blog by clicking the links above!!

Ingredients

6 oranges (or lemons)

whole cloves

decorative ribbon

The Spice Mix

4 tablespoons ground cinnamon

4 tablespoons ground cloves

2 tablespoons ground nutmeg

2 tablespoons ground allspice

1/4 cup orrisroot powder (as preservative)

Directions

1 Combine the spice mix ingredients.

2 Wash oranges.

3 Insert cloves into oranges in a decorative pattern (stripes, swirls, whatever strikes your fancy!).

4 Roll cloved oranges in the spice mixture within 24 hours and set in a warm place to dry, turning fruit daily.

5 Drying takes from two weeks to possibly a month.

6 Pomanders are completely dry when they are hard.

7 Remove pomanders from the spice mix, dust off a little, and tie with decorative ribbons. Set out in a bowl, or you can use as Christmas ornaments.

Ornamental Gingerbread Dough Recipe

I was hoppin' around on the internet again through some of the crafting blogs and happend upon this recipe from And Baby Makes Five. I found it while looking at Behind My Red Door's Blog. So I thought I would grab the recipe and a photo of them as a reference for us all.

Ornamental Gingerbread Dough
3 T shortening

1/2 cup sugar

1/2 cup molasses

1 tsp. baking soda

3/4 cup water

3 1/2 cups flour

1 tsp. each: ground cloves, cinnamon, and nutmeg

Beat shortening and sugar together until light and fluffy. Stir in molasses. Mix dry ingredients together. Stir them into sugar mixture and gradually add water. Dough will be very stiff. Refrigerate overnight.Heat oven to 350º. Cut dough into three pieces. Roll one piece at a time (between two sheets of waxed paper) to a thickness of about 1/4 ". Cut out desired shapes and patterns. *** If you are planning to hang these ornaments, poke holes in the shapes now with a straw or toothpick.*** Bake for about 20 minutes. Allow to cool and harden for several hours or overnight.

Finished ornaments can be painted, sealed, or dipped in melted wax. The possibilities are endless!

Art works lately..

It's about that time again! YAY! Fall and Halloween crafts are starting to pour out! I will be making another set of witches stockings and a few more witches boots again this year. These were my last years batch.

I have been trying really hard to finish up quite a few items that I have started in the past. Here is one of my unfinished Annie dolls. I have handsculpted her head and given her a cloth body. She is in brown tones but I decided not to let you all see her in full color yet because she needs to still go through her aging processes and such so that she becomes as primitive as she can.

Here is the next lil' gal I'll be working on. She's is going to be wonderful!. I have something beautiful pictured in my head. Now, hopefully I can get my hands to pull it off.

Sa-weeet Annie

I found a really great blog post from The Primitive Country Bug's Blog on how to preserve your sweet annie. And since I have been wondering myself how in the world people keep it green when mine turns brown... I figured that I would post this for myself as a reference and possibly for you all as well. (So here it is almost word for word and I have used some of her pictures as well so I can't take credit for any of those. And please if you would like to visit her blog for the full Sweet Annie Post - Click the link above. ) Sweet Annie is an annual(for some reason mine acts as a perinnial-BrittanyJo) that's easy to grow from seed. Simply sow the seeds after danger of frost has passed. She likes full sun and average soil. No extra attention is really needed except for occasional watering during dry spells but don't overwater. Sweet Annie is a tall gal, she'll grow up to 6 feet tall so be sure to plant her in the back of your flower bed. Some might call this a noxious weed and it can become invasive, but Sweet Annie attracts bees, butterflies and birds.

What to watch for: In late summer, watch for the development of “beads” ~tiny yellow flowers along the branches. If the branches are cut too soon, they will be of poor quality, so wait until the blossoms open, giving the plants a yellowish cast. To harvest Sweet Annie, simply cut the stems off close to the ground. The stems will be thick and woody so use a heavy pair of lopping shears to cut them with. Then cut the smaller branches off the main stem and group them together in small bundles, wrapping the ends with heavy twine or rubber bands. Be sure to leave some stems in the garden if you want it to self sow the following year. How to hang them to dry: Hang the bunches in a warm, dry, dark location with good air circulation for 1 to 1 1/2 weeks to dry; garage or attic rafters are ideal. When the centers of the bunches feel completely dry, hang them in a dark, dry place to store them or place them in a cardboard box.Sweet Annie has been used for a long time as a natural room air freshener. Folks in the old general store would hang a bunch of Sweet Annie from the corner of a room to cover up musty odors. In the olden days, and most likely in many Amish and Mennonite homes today, Sweet Annie would be hung in the pantry to give a pleasing scent, but also to act as a pest deterrent. Hang a bunch in your bathroom or closet for a clean, fresh smell when you enter.Sweet Annie will keep her scent for a very long time, even when not preserved. Preserved Sweet Annie will stay soft, hold its color and last for years. Air dried Sweet Annie will stay green when kept out of direct sunlight but will become brittle and shed, eventually turning brown over a long period of time.

Keeping it clean: Preserved Sweet Annie is easy to keep clean (just blow lightly with a hair dryer) while air dried Sweet Annie is hard to keep clean, it is too brittle to blow the dust off from.

Preserving Methods: If you want to preserve your Sweet Annie after it's been picked, stand it in about 3 inches of HOT water mixed with glycerin oil 2 to one and you will see in a couple days the color changing to a dark green sorta like spinach. Remove it from the mixture and gently dry it off or lay it in front of a fan to dry so it won't mold. It will be soft and fragrant but will have a darker color to it.Another method of treating Sweet Annie is by mixing regular school glue half and half with water and spraying it on your sprigs. Some people have been known to use hair spray too. Whatever method you choose, you'll be able to enjoy your Sweet Annie for a very long time.

Challenge No. 2- The AGGhhhhhh!! Challenge.

Alrighty, Now that I have challenge No. 1 set in motion...Challenge No. 2 needs to be right up there as well. Challenge No. 2 is the almighty weight loss!! (AggggHHHhhhh!!! shrieks of terror!!)I will be starting another blog to keep everyone in tune to my progress. I need all the support that I can get. I have tried and tried to loose weight and nothing works because I fall off of the wagon and there's nothing and/or no one to help me back up. So tomorrow morning, I'm going to try my best to fight the fat!! I am going to try to post pictures along with my weight, etc. (I'm sure some days... I'll forget(cough, cough) to get a picture)haha. In all seriousness, I'm really needing an intervention and I think that if I do this blog that I will feel the needed pressure to get to my goal. I feel like I'm a beautiful person inside but some days the outside doesn't look that great. Plus the fact that I am only 26 years old and over 200 pounds. I hate being so hefty that the heat gets to me, I can't do much outdoor fun with my little girl, my cholesterol is high, I'm tired of having to search for clothes to fit me (as well as fitting cheap!), I'm tired of being "The Chubby One" out of all of my siblings and especially of my sisters and I just want to feel good about myself again. So I'm gearing up for a more slender me.

Challenge No. 1

Ok, I have decided that it is time to get this place cleaned out! I have so much clutter that I'm sure it is part of my everyday stress. I can't come home after being gone and just relax or feel like I can have fun doing any of my favorite hobbies. There is so much EVERYWHERE!! So I am going to start getting rid of a lot of things that are just taking up space. I will be needing as many ideas as you can throw at me. I would love for all of you to give me some of your best organizing tips or advice of any kind.

For the next 30 days I will be on a misson to organize. I started today July 9th and plan to have this place ship shape by the second week of August. I got a nice bunch of clutter organized and sorted. (most of our problem comes from all of our linens, clothing, etc. Oh yea, and I'm a crafter... so... theres tons of that lying around too!) I buy tons of things from yard sales and thrift stores. I'm constantly buying to put THIS with THAT that I bought at an earlier sale... etc. etc.... well it's time for an overhaul!

Glass and Stingers

Well yesterday wasn't too bad. For most of the day I searched online for inspiration to go back to sewing. Sometimes I just get into a rut and need to see what other people are doing to just get back to finishing what I have started.

I also got to visit with one of my favorite great aunts and her girls. I don't get to see them often but when I do - I always feel like I belong. I'm such a plump, boisterous, bubble-y, laughing and rather extreme presence and thats them too. I just love it. Our little Dusty Attic Store walls were just busting with loud happy mouths! It was such a fun time.

Then later in the evening we went out for a walk with our pups and ended up bringing a stray boxer home...lol. Not on purpose... he just wouldn't get the hint. On our way back to the house I must have walked across some broken glass and flipped it into my flip flops. UGGhhhh! (If anyone knows me-you'll know that if there is broken glass around... my fingers or feet will find it!!) I brushed the bottom of my foot with hopes that I would find the piece that got me and no glass. So I stepped a few more steps and found that I must have missed it because it hurt each time I stepped. Again, I looked and felt and no glass. I was hoping it wasn't way in there. So there I was following my husband and daughter with our pups ...prancing on my tip toes until we could get to the porch and investigate further. And sure enough... there was glass sticking up from my flip flops. I must have flipped the glass up into my shoe and then pressed it into it with my foot as I walked a few steps. Not fun. I kept thinking... ewww... I walk around in these flip flops for most of the day and who knows what gets onto them... AND NOW... I have a cut for all that junk to get into...blllluuuckkk! (I'm a germaphobe when it comes to cuts and open wounds. I don't know how I managed when I had my reduction-I'm sure I've blocked that out...lol)

Well after that we decided to out to Glen-o. (Glen O Jones Lake) and let Erica slide down the swirly slide thats at the park there. She's suddenly daring now and has decided that slides aren't as dangerous as they look. So she thought... Anyways, we went to the lake park and Leif and I were grabbin' the pups outta the back of the truck while Erica asked if she could go ahead to the slide. Leif said "Yea babe thats fine just be careful." We were only a few yards from her when we heard the most blood curdling scream that every parent dreads. Not once but numberous times. Leif ran to her as I was trying to get to them both (I was tripping and tangled in puppy leashes). He picked her up and asked what was wrong but she just wasn't calming down. The only other times we have heard these shrieks were when Miss Erica has encountered a bug of some sort...ticks, spiders, etc. Then he saw a red wasp kind of waddling along. She'd been STUNG! Her first sting and man was it a duezy. Her lil 4 year old baby fingers were swellin' up and red. All she could say is ... "OH momma... ohhhh mommma it hurts tooo bad! I can't move my fingers. Oh momma this is the worst day ever!! " Of course all of this was said blubbering. I didn't think she was ever going to stop crying that night. She would catch a glimps of Spongebob on tv and stop just long enough to remember that she wasn't thinking about her hand. Once she finally calmed down a little she said in a sad little voice... "Momma I think I need to sleep in your bed tonight so you can help me move my hand when I need to get my night night water... Oh yea and I think that if I watch cartoons in there, it might make it swell down better." We knew then that she was gonna be ok...lol!!

Today her little baby hand feels like a million bucks!

Puppies, Puppies, Puppies!

This week has been a lil' busy with puppies. LOL. Our new additions are actually starting to turn out to be great little learners. They are starting to mind well when out on our walks every night.
They are also understanding commands fairly well. We also have finally named our lil' gals. Corey and Dotty. Corey is the one who took on the German Shorthaired Pointer looks. She has the smaller nob on her head and bigger rounder eyes. Dotty is the larger of the two and is a lil less obediant. She is the spitting image of the Weimaraner breed.

They had a great time this past 4th. They got to go out to "Nana and PaPa's"(My inlaws house). They have a huge yard out in the country and their house has a huge wrap around porch with a gate. We put the pups on the porch for a bit so that they could run a lil' free for a while. BUT, the smell of ribs being grilled was too much for them. They found a way to break out! lol. We kept putting them back on the porch and then they would just be running around on the carport where the ribs were being grilled! I finally told my husband that there had to be a hole somewhere. Well there was. I blocked it off and to my surprise they were roaming the yard again!! I then decided to spy on them. To my surprise those long legged pups were just jumping straight over the gate..lol! So I then decided it was time for a little walk and then I let them be on their long chains together so that they wouldn't get out into the road. They were so happy to just be in the grass that they layed there playing together for the rest of the evening. Blluughhkk... I was so tired...lol Who knew puppies were so exhausting!! lol.

New to blogging

Hey everyone! I'm extremely new to this whole blogging thing. But... here goes. My name is BrittanyJo. I'm 26 years old and have been involved with anything artsy or craft related for as long as I can remember. I was born from a family of 4 children. As for myself, I have decided that just ONE, for the time being, is enough...haha. I'm an at home momma with a ton of things to do. "Don't all of us mommas have a ton!" I'm married to a wonderful man who makes my days bareable. We have never went one day AND night without an "I love you" since we have been together. Not to meantion a few strewn throughout the day. Our little gal is Erica and she is a rip-roarin' 4 years old.

This week has been a fun as well as agravating. I have been working on a few items here and there as well as some graphics.

We got 2 new Weimaraner puppies earlier this week. 2 lil girls that we have yet to name. They are the prettiest Chocolate color with sage green eyes. (Yes, I know Weims are truely grey. They're part sneaky neighbor dog; I was told....lol)

We had a really great week at Vacation Bible School. There were a ton of great kids there for my lil gal to meet. Tons of songs, stickers and colors...and a few cookies and juice boxes tossed in for good measure.

Last night my hubby and I decided to go out on the town. A sort of date night, if you will. We had a great meal at Western Sizzlin'. Not my favorite but good food just the same. Then we decided to skip the movie and do our weekly shopping that was postponed that morning. On the way, we encountered our lovely car deciding to take a steam. It was overheating...blllluugggk! It was miserable. Here we were an hour from home and our car was having a hot flash. We did however end up making it almost home before we had to just call it quits. There was no more fighting that beast anymore. Kaboom, something blew. Luckily, my pops-in-law came to our rescue, tow strap in hand. Finally, our lil' speed buggy was pulled from the highway and left at a safe location until we could grab a trailor this morning to haul 'er home. So now, our valiant silver sebring has come to her temperary resting place. The bone yard....well, the place where my husband works on his welding and such. It just sort of looks like a grave yard for metal and iron pieces...haha.

Anyways, what a way to end with a bang.... literally.
